APC Reveals Primaries Method For Kogi 2019 Governorship Election

The Kogi State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has adopted
indirect primaries method for conduct of its primaries for the 2019 Kogi State
Governorship election, Igbere TV can report.
Igbere TV reports that the APC primaries is billed to hold in August, while the
gubernatorial election is fixed for 16 November, 2019, by the Independent
National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Incumbent Governor Yahaya Bello of the All Progressives Congress is seeking
reelection for a second term, a move some aggrieved leaders of the party have,
however, vowed to oppose.
On the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Dino Melaye had
declared interest to run for the Kogi exalted office, vowing to stop Bello’s
reelection.
Though there are insinuations that the APC may deny Governor Bello the
party's ticket, the APC leadership is however yet to issue any official statement
on its stand.
The leadership of the Kogi APC adopted the indirect primaries method at the
ongoing stakeholders meeting at the party’s secretariat in Lokoja, being
monitored by our correspondent.
Our correspondent reports that the resolution followed a motion moved by the
Speaker of the Kogi Assembly, Hon Matthew Kolawole and seconded by the
former Speaker, Hon Abdullahi Bello.
More to come...
