Air Force Helicopter Crash-lands In Katsina

An aircraft belonging to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has crash-landed, Igbere TV reports.

Igbere TV learnt that the incident happened today, Wednesday, June 12 at the Katsina Airport, at about 3.30pm.

Reacting to the incident, the NAF’s Spokesman, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, in a statement sent to Igbere TV said the helicopter crashed in the process of landing while returning from an anti-banditry combat mission in the Northwest.

He said the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, had directed the constitution of a Board of Inquiry to determine the exact cause of the incident.

Daramola, who said details of the cause of the incident were still scanty, however added that no life was lost to the crash.

“NAF continues to solicit the understanding and support of the general public as it daily strives to ensure the security of Nigeria and Nigerians,” he said.
