Nigerian Government Suspends Dana Air - Daily Nigerian

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, has banned the operations of Dana Air by suspending its operating licens.

NCAA’s spokesperson, Sam Adurogboye, announced the suspension in a statement Wednesday.

Mr. Adurogboye explained that the suspension order commenced on Wednesday.

According to him, the suspension was carried out to pave way for an investigation on the airline.

He explained that Dana Air had already complied with the order.

DAILY NIGERIAN reports that the suspension is coming on the heels of an earlier resolution of the Senate’s directive to the NCAA to ban the airline from flying in the Nigerian airspace.

A Dana Air aircraft carrying 153 people crashed in Lagos on June 3, 2012, killing everybody aboard and 6 on ground.
